All alone I'm walking across the city at night.
I count the pavement cracks at least a thousand times.
Walking passed my old haunts from where I grew up.
I see the city in the moonlight with exposed insides.
I don't know why I can't sleep at night..
I can feel it in my bones like I'm screaming into the unknown.
Like a whisper in my bones. I can't sleep at home.
I can feel them calling, the ghosts of my past.
I can see them waiting for pull me back.
Now the pavement sparkles as I roam alone.
The streetlights shed ease on my shadow.
I don't know why I can't sleep at night..
I can feel it in my bones like I'm screaming into the unknown.
Like a whisper in my bones. I can't sleep at home.
All alone I'm walking through the city at night.
The cement dust settles on the city's backside.
All alone I follow the glowing cigarette light.
I'll leave a trail of ash. That's all I've left behind.

While the World Ends..

As the whole world's ending I'm waiting for you.
You say you're waiting for me like I've been waiting for you.
I'd wait here forever if you'd see me through.
When the world's over I'll build a new one for you.
You say you're waiting for me..
Well, I've been waiting for you.
Now they're saying it's over. They're saying it's true.
Well, if it's over there's nothing I'd rather do
than watch the whole world burn here just me and you.
My whole world is through.. My whole world is you.
They said the world was ending long ago.
It's finally ending then I want you to know
that I feel it in my heart,
cutting through to my soul.
I write these love soaked lines just for me and you.
My whole world's in you..

I Need You

I always thought that you'd be the first to go.
I never thought I needed anyone until I fucking lost it all.
When I was young I tried harder to die
than I've ever tried to live.
Now with you softly glued to my heart
I know what true love is. I need you..
I've been sifting through those instances
going back to where it began
Back on moments of inner dialogue, heartaches,
and shaky hands.
I saw you as ageless, but hurt.
Now we're both battered and bruised
I never thought you would be someone else
that I would lose. I need you..
I won't wait forever.
No, I won't wait that long.
I know I need you,
but in the ocean of love I'm starting to fucking drown.

Dead History

He sent the troops home back from the jungle
and made peace with the bodies in the Congo
With Castro sitting in the water
he said there ain't no use to make of another slaughter.
He had a dream of hands held together
and now those hands are pointed up out there
Pointed up to where they heard the final shot from
and in an instant a mans dream came undone
Did you ever find the fucking Promised Land?
And it's sad that history is written
by the ones who are still alive.
And it's sad that history ain't written
by the ones who've already died.
With children starving on all of our continents,
here at home we have food eating contests
The law of the land is still governed by the idiots
and all your morals placed into the hands of your religions.
I didn't know that eating was a privilege.
And it's sad that history is written
by the ones who are still alive.
And it's sad that history ain't written
by the ones who've already died.

Before it Goes Down

I want a girl who is as warm as me
and always seems they're too cold
Seeking an illusive sound I keep my ear
down and out for common ground
I wish you could live without the need for somewhere else.
I wish I could live without the records on my shelves,
but they own me.
And I want it to be something else.
I set myself up to be this alone.
If I just look up and live I don't feel
the moments slipping away.
But I spent too long looking down for most of the day.
You should watch the pot because it's going to boil.
Or waste your time with your head in the clouds or on a girl.
Because life will come and interrupt you.
Enjoy the time you get to be with yourself.
Get lost in a sunset before it goes down.
